How it was studied

The study included 52 patients operated on by the same surgeon at a private clinic in Lima between 2018 and 2019. All had a BMI under 28 and no skin laxity of the thighs.

An average of 173 cm³ of fat was grafted into the vastus lateralis, which gained 21 mm of thickness, 88.31%; into the vastus medialis, 124 cm³ and 30 mm, 87.02%.

What the study does not allow us to claim

The authors themselves note that further studies are needed to know how long the graft lasts.

The study criteria — BMI, no skin laxity — are not those of every patient: candidacy is decided by examination.
