Does rib remodeling affect breathing?
It is the most repeated question and it has a dedicated study. Respiratory function was specifically assessed after waist reduction through scarless ultrasound-guided monocortical fracture, and published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal Open Forum.
The concern is reasonable: the work is done on the chest wall, which is where the mechanics of breathing happen.

In the 3,805-patient series no respiratory complication appeared among the five major ones documented.
